How Our Programs Work:
A step-by-step guide to how we can help
Awareness or insight is always the first step forward in the possibility of new direction and creating change. Once we are aware of a possible difficulties in our lives, we can then take the necessary steps forward in doing something about it.
MLF programs will assist you to increase your awareness of your own thoughts (what are you thinking about), feelings (what is the emotion or feeling state) and behaviors (what do you do? the actions).
Through increased awareness of these three key areas you can begin to learn how to make changes using the CBT model which will be explained in great detail throughout the programs.
MLF programs will provide you with evidence based information to work through your unique and individual difficulties in life.
The MLF programs largely use a CBT framework, delivered in an interactive style, which makes learning engaging and easy to follow. You will increase your knowledge in a self paced module by module format.
Whether you are feeling depressed/sad, anxious, or lost your way in life - there is a program to suit your needs.
MLF programs are designed to provide you with the tools to be effective in real life situations. Each module includes videos where Dr Patrick explains the treatment model used, to help you navigate through your own thoughts and behaviours that may be causing difficulties in your life.
You will construct a tool box of coping skills for a variety of situations specific to you .
MLF programs strongly advocate for the application of information learnt. Change does not occur through knowledge alone, it also requires you to use the knowledge and skills in your own life.
You will be given tasks to do between modules to practice your new skills learnt. MLF programs encourage you to set you own goals and pursue them with the support of a MLF coach and others on the same path as you.
You will revise your skills along the way and MLF programs will prompt you to do this. MLF programs offer a building block approach to learning information and skills and its important not to lose sight of earlier skills you have learnt through revision.
One of the important steps we believe in full-heartedly is to learn, apply and then of course review how this new skill or fine-tuned 'way of doing' something important has been 'received'.
Imagine for a moment, that you are about to swim in a race. Your attention is focused on the starter gun, the water you are about to dive into, the movement of your muscles, the air you take into your lungs and the feel of the water on your body as you dive in. You are living in the moment, utterly absorbed in the present activity. Time seems to fall away. You are tired as you start to swim, but you barely notice. You are focused on swimming as fast as you can to that finish line!
What you are experiencing is a state of complete immersion in an activity, and flow.
There is also the mental state of flow, which is being completely involved in an activity/situation because you choose to, you loose track of time, you involve your whole being, you are using your skills and every thought, movement and action flows from the last one.
So how Does it Feel to Experience Flow?
- You are completely focusing and concentrating on what you are doing.
- There is some sense of what can be described as ecstacy–of being outside of everyday reality.
- You know exactly what needs to be done and there is a sense of clarity.
- You know you have the necessary skills to complete whatever you are doing – you know you can do it.
- Often you worries of concerns will disappear during the time you are involved in the activity or task.
- You are ‘in the present moment’ and you seem to lose the concept of time.
- You are intrinsically motivated - whatever produces flow becomes it’s own reward.
Research in the area of “what makes us happy” and happiness found that being in a state of ‘flow’ is a key component of happiness for many people.

Program Completer Testimonials...
Don’t just believe us. See what past users have to say.
I just wanted you to know how helpful your programme has been for me. I have noticed that I feel generally calmer, and I have more confidence with others and in myself. I don’t feel that I am churning away with anxiety that zaps my energy all the time. And I don’t have the thought all the time that ‘people think I’m awkward’.
I have always been a shy person – even back in primary school – and I know that may not go completely – but I am able to get on with my life regardless. I am thinking of going back to Uni and studying something new – I never would have considered this before your course.
If you are thinking of doing this – just do it! You wont regret it at all. Patrick is very skilled and knows so much in the area of social anxiety.
Thank you Patrick!
Louise (Vancouver, British Columbia CANADA)
Patrick – I don’t think many Psychologists actually understand what Social Anxiety is. I saw quite a few to try to help me, but they didnt. Your information is so easy to follow, backed my research and you seem like a really nice guy too.
Will you do another follow on programme to this one – as I really like your delivery and it has helped me so much with talking to others!
Many thanks for your help
Sam (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
